Originating from the nectar of eucalyptus flowers, it is aromatic and beneficial to health. The eucalyptus honey has a light brown tone and open aroma and taste that blends delicately with other ingredients. With many health benefits, eucalyptus honey is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial and stimulating. ?Passa? Pear comes from the pear trees at S. Bartolomeu, fruits of regional variety, produced in new and intensive orchards. After a set of processes that were perfected from generation to generation, it results in a high quality gourmet product, from an inner region of our country. It is a sweet and nutritious fruit, mostly produced in Oliveira do Hospital, Seia, Tábua, Nelas, Gouveia, Mangualde, Santa Comba Dão and Visey. The fruits are harvested in August and peeled manually right after. The fresh pears, after peeling, are placed in a solar greenhouse, individually and separated, in trays, where they stay (usually) for six days exposed to sunlight. This drying process causes the expected changes of flavour, color and texture, from the fresh pear to the ?Passa? pear. After drying, the fruits are ready to be flattened. The result is ?Passa? pear, with a reddish brown color and unique organoleptic properties, leastic, sweet and very tasty.
